JAKE

This is Jake, my Mum's dog. Believe it or not he is an American Cocker Spaniel !
I think he looks more like a teddy bear. No matter what he looks like he is cute! so I wanted to paint him. I did this painting with acrylics on wood, the frame is 10X10. I really enjoy doing dog portraits. If anyone would like one done of their furry friend ( will do cats too) send me an email. cupcakeicingsugar@hotmail.com

bye for now!!

Two of my new paintings of birch tree's

More " Cute Little Victim's" !!!!!!

This painting is called "Clear Cut". I wanted to bring attention to the desolation that clear cutting brings to a landscape.
Since I haven't done any little red
birds I thought I would try one. I love
the way this little guy turned out! so I
there will be some more red birds to
come!!

Cute Little Victims

These paintings are a new series I call "Cute Little Victims". The little victims are blue and yellow birds. I wanted to show the sweet little innocent birds going about their lives while all around them the environment is being polluted. I am surrounded by construction, and trees are chopped down daily to make room for new buildings. It makes me wonder where the little birds and squirrels go that made those trees their homes. There was a nest of sparrows in our underground parking lot, it seemed like an all right place for them to live except that the lights are on 24 hours a day! not ideal!!........ If things keep going the same way there will be no decent place for these animals to live. I hope that my paintings will make people stop and think about the animals that nobody seems to notice, before its too late.

A few new bird paintings

These are more realistic birds for a change. As you can see Tinkle wanted to be in the photos as well, she likes to be involved.......... I am currently working on another group of bird paintings that deal with pollution and the environment.

Happy Canada Day

In the picture: Bride- Jamie, Groom- Russ, Bridesmaids- Lisa and Amy ( brides Sisters), Bestmen- Adam and Jordan ( cousin and brother) check out the grooms shoes!! white skate shoes.

Things have settled down after the wedding. The rain held off for the ceremony and then came down with a vengeance for the dancing. Everyone had fun though, and I loved my dress!! although I didn't get a good picture of it! I hate when that happens.

I will post my paintings soon, I have finally taken pictures of them and just need to name them tonight. I set up my Etsy account too, so I will probably list them next week!! I am very excited and nervous about that step! I will be getting my business cards printed up soon too! Thank you Natasha for helping me with those. Well, I hope everyone has a great long weekend and celebrates Canada with some good canadian fun!

This week has been too crazy and busy for me to get a chance to post anything. My soon to be brother in law is getting married and at the parents house, so it has been mad trying to get the house ready. The house that has been in constant renovation for the last ten years! It will be almost finished by Saturday, I hope. So, anyways that what I'm up to! I will write again soon
